The U.S. has moved light years beyond Banana Republic status. A whole new category of a corrupt dictatorial surveillance police state with child trafficking, open borders, paedophilic reverence, and corporate socialism, with absolutely no shame about any of it, will need to be invented to accurately label what the nation has become.

The Green Hornet was my favorite as a kid, despite my peer group being into Batman or Superman. I dug a guy who appeared to operate outside the law and with the incomparable Brice Lee as Kato, was totally bad ass. 49 years ago this week, The Band held their farewell concert at Winterland, along with just about everyone they worked with in their career. Aside from their own musical greatness, their ability to seamlessly work with and behind so many different legends made them giants of rock and roll. So sad they're all gone now, but their music is eternal.
